Definitions
Privacy Policy shall mean this privacy policy, as may be renewed and/or amended from time to time, and which forms an integral part of the Software End-User License Agreement
Software End-User License Agreement shall mean the software end-user license agreement, as may be renewed and/or amended from time to time, which can be found on voxtrot.com/eula
Any capitalized terms used in this Privacy Policy but not defined herein shall have the meanings assigned to them in the Software End-User License Agreement.
References to the singular include the plural and vice versa, and references to one gender include the other gender.
Any phrase introduced by the expressions "including", "include", "in particular" or any similar expression shall be construed as illustrative and shall not limit the sense of the words preceding those terms.
Scope of Application and Acceptance of Terms
At Voxtrot we strongly believe in confidentiality. We are committed to respect the privacy and the confidentiality of all personal data, technical data and communication content of its Users.
The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to assist the User in understanding how Voxtrot uses and safeguards the information provided by the User when using the Voxtrot Software and/or the Voxtrot Services.
By accepting to be legally bound by the Software End-User License Agreement, the User automatically accepts to be bound by this Privacy Policy as well as any amendments thereto.
Voxtrot is a Swiss company and Swiss data protection and privacy rules apply in any case, irrespective of where in the world the User is located.
Collection, Processing, Use and Storage of Information
Phone Number
When first downloading the Software, the User must enter the phone number of his mobile device. Voxtrot stores this phone number, but only uses such information for the purpose of connecting him to other users. This information will be permanently deleted when the Software End-User License Agreement is terminated. Voxtrot reserves the right to store the phone number of the User in case Voxtrot has terminated or had reason to terminate the Software End-User License Agreement in order to prevent the User from re-registering to the Services. Due to technological reasons, Voxtrot may not be aware of the termination of the Software End-User License Agreement when the User has terminated the Software End-User License Agreement. In such cases, it is the User's sole responsibility to inform Voxtrot about such termination and to ask for deletion of the phone number of the User via the e-mail address provided in the section "Questions".
Other Information
When downloading and/or using the Software and/or the Services, Voxtrot may periodically collect, process and use technical data and related information, including but not limited to technical information about the mobile device, the operating system and the application legacy software and the peripherals. In addition, Voxtrot may collect information in order to identify patterns of usage such as origins of IP-addresses, referral websites, User location and any other web usage activity and data logged by the servers of Voxtrot. Voxtrot may collect such information by setting cookies on the Voxtrot Website. Such information is only used to facilitate the provision of Software updates, product support and other services to the User related to the Voxtrot Services.
No Recording
Voxtrot does not record conversations or messages exchanged by users of the Voxtrot Services via the Voxtrot Software.
Chats, Blogs, Forums and other Public Content Platforms
Voxtrot may operate social media accounts, blogs, forums, chat rooms, or other similar public content platforms on the Voxtrot Website. The User acknowledges and agrees that he is solely responsible for the information and other content he posts on and through the Voxtrot Website and is aware that when he voluntarily discloses personal information (e.g., name, e-mail address, telephone number) on or through the Voxtrot Website, such information is generally accessible to, and may be collected and used by, other users. This may result in unsolicited messages from third parties, and such messages are beyond the control of Voxtrot. Voxtrot does not exercise control over any users or Voxtrot Website visitors, and in no way is responsible, and have any liability whatsoever, for any collection or use of information the User discloses on or through the Voxtrot Website.
Place of Storage
The information relating to the User may be stored and processed in any country in which Voxtrot maintains facilities. In this regard, or for purposes of sharing or disclosing data in accordance with this Privacy Policy, Voxtrot reserves the right to transfer information outside of the User's country. By using the Software and/or the Services, the User consents to any such transfer of information outside of the User's country.
Duration of Storage
Voxtrot will retain the information relating to the User for as long as necessary to
Business Transitions
As Voxtrot continues to develop its business, Voxtrot might sell or buy subsidiaries or business units. In such transactions as well as in the event Voxtrot or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, personal information of Users will generally be one of the transferred business assets. Voxtrot reserves the right to include all information of the User, collected as an asset, in any such transfer to a third party.
Disclosing and Sharing of Information
No Disclosure of Information
Voxtrot does not rent, sell, or share any information about the User with any third-parties. Voxtrot may disclose personal data of the User if Voxtrot believes such action is necessary, and the User herewith consents to such disclosure, in order to:
Voxtrot explicitly reserves the right to disclose information about the User if Voxtrot believes that for national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance such disclosure of information is necessary.
Sharing of Information
Voxtrot may, if necessary, share personal data of the User and technical data with trusted partner service providers and/or agents, for example analytical services, customer support, or hosting services. Voxtrot will always require these third parties to take appropriate organizational and technical measures to protect the personal and technical data of the User and to observe the relevant legislation.
Permissions
During the installation process of the Software, most platforms inform and warn the User about the permissions required by the client in order to be fully functional with the mobile device.
Permissions on Android Devices
The Software requires the following 21 (twenty-one) permissions:
INTERNET, RECORD AUDIO, MODIFY AUDIO SETTINGS, PROCESS OUTGOING CALLS, RECEIVE BOOT COMPLETED, CALL PHONES, READ CONTACTS, WRITE CONTACTS, RECEIVE SMS, RECEIVE MMS, SEND SMS, VIBRATE, READ SMS, WRITE SMS, ACCESS NETWORK STATE, CHANGE NETWORK STATE, READ PHONE STATE, WAKE LOCK, DISABLE KEYGUARD, READ LOGS.

Modifications of and Amendments to this Privacy Policy
The current and legally binding version of this Privacy Policy is published on voxtrot.com/privacy and is valid as of the date of its publication. Voxtrot reserves the right to modify and to amend this Privacy Policy at all times and at its sole discretion without having to notify the User of any such modifications or amendments. The User shall monitor the Voxtrot Website regularly in order to ensure that he is aware of any such modifications of or amendments to this Privacy Policy. Any such modifications and amendments will automatically become effective with the publication on the Voxtrot Website. If such modifications or amendments are not acceptable to the User, he shall immediately stop using the Voxtrot Services and uninstall the Voxtrot Software. It is the User's sole responsibility to consult the Voxtrot Website from time to time, to take notice of any modifications and amendments and to abide by such modifications and amendments.
